Gov. Livingston, Cranford reach Union County Tournament championship game

Monday night, each posted an impressive victory in the UCT semifinals at Johnson High in Clark, where 1,000 fans watched Cranford, the second seed, defeat third-seeded Dayton, 62-38, and top-seeded Gov. Livingston roll to a 61-35 decision over fifth-seeded Summit.
The final will be held 5 p.m. Sunday at Kean University in Union.
Cranford, which has won 13 straight since a 42-38 home loss to Gov. Livingston on Jan. 19, was paced by junior Jessica McCoy and senior Morgan Miller. McCoy finished with a game-high 22 points and nine rebounds and Miller totaled 11 points, eight assists and eight boards.
For Gov. Livingston, Erin Ferguson had a team-high 15 points and was a dominant force on the glass bringing down 17 rebounds. Mallory George added 13 points and nine assists and Alyssa Polimeni scored a team-high 15 points.
